Marvel’s Thunderbolts Release Date
Marvel’s Thunderbolts was officially announced at San Diego Comic-Con, with the added information that it is looking to be the final installment in Phase 5 of the MCU, with the movie releasing on July 26, 2024, in theaters only. Below, the official announcement from Marvel Studios is included. Many fans believe that Marvel’s Thunderbolts was done in response to DC’s Suicide Squad movies as the two teams have a similar premise. However, given that this movie is seemingly going to be a part of the thriller side of the MCU, with namely characters from Captain America and Black Widow’s side of the MCU feeding into the movie, there is a good chance it won’t be as funny as its counterpart over in the DCEU. There has been no confirmation on any cast members yet, but fans have been theorizing on who exactly will be showing up as part of this team. Phase 4 of the MCU seems to have been really setting up the team as it is incredibly likely that Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ character, Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, is going to be the “Nick Fury” of the team. Entries like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Black Widow make it feel as though she is gathering characters who would be a perfect fit for a team like this. We have zero confirmation of any of this, so it should be made clear that this is all speculation as of right now, but with the movie’s confirmation this feels like the obvious way to move forward with Marvel’s Thunderbolts. Fans will, of course, be getting more information as the July 2024 release date gets closer, so it is a matter of waiting and seeing as of right now. That is everything you need to know about when Marvel’s Thunderbolts will be released.
