Rings of Power Firuvante Meaning
Firuvante is Elvish for “You will die.” This word is part of Finrod’s battle cry in a battle against the forces of Morgoth–Finrod is brave and determined to win–it’s easy to see why the Elves bestowed him with their highest honors. The elf lives to see the defeat of Morgoth, and soon after decides to hunt Sauron, who is a threat in his own right, until his death. Finrod, played by Will Fletcher, is Galadriel’s brother and the inspiration for her relentless pursuit of Sauron. She decides to honor his legacy in an emotional scene with Finrod’s body. Galadriel lives by the advice Finrod gives her in the first episode of Rings of Power, which is additional evidence of her admiration for her brother. The use of Elvish words in the Rings of Power adds an element of mystery to the show by making use of source material to pull fans deeper into the lore.
