If we talk about UC Browser, UC Browser is the leading mobile browser in India with over 100 million base which is bigger base than Google-owned Chrome browser. Well, the reason why UC Browser had been removed from Google Play store is still in a mystery. Neither Google nor UC Web has issued any statement regarding why the app has been taken down. However, Android Police founder Artem Russakovskii had posted the email from UC Union which states that UC Browser is using ‘Malicious Promotion’ methods. Android central shared the contents of the mail and also shared the reason for the takedown could be “Malicious redirect ads served up by UC Web’s affiliates to inflate installs” Mike Ross who works with UC Browser also shared a tweet in which he had explained the reason why the app was taken down. He wrote “I work for UC Browser, I got mail today morning it said that UC Browser was temporarily removed from play store for 30 days because it used “Misleading” and “Unhealthy” methods of promotion to increase installs”.
— Mike Ross (@SKz_14) November 14, 2017 Google is taking required steps to eliminate apps that uses dubious tricks to increase the install base. However, the takedown seems temporary and UC Browser should be back in upcoming days. So, what do you think about this? Share your views in the comment box below.
