Recently, popular YouTuber EverythingApplePro has posted a video that shows how a$500 device can hack the password protected iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in no-time. Well, the device is small in size and it has three USB ports, the device can brute-force passcodes on three connected devices at the same time. EverythingApplePro says that the inventor of this device had used a vulnerability in iPhone’s data recovery state which allows users to enter as many password attempts as they need. The device launches a brute force attack using a third-party app. For those who don’t know about brute force attack, this is a type of attack in which the software enters the passcodes in sequence like 0000, 0001 etc. The sequence goes on until the correct passwords are retrieved. The vulnerability puts all version of iOS between 10.3.3 and 11 Beta into the risk. That means all iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users are at risk. However, as we already mentioned that the device uses brute force attack so the device could still require up to few days to crack your iPhone, depending on the complexity of your passcode.
