The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is the latest game of The Witcher game series, and the franchise has sold over 50 million copies of the game. CD Projekt is also well known for developing Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt has also announced a new technology partnership with Epic Games. They switched from its existing in-house REDengine engine, which the company has used for over a decade, to Unreal Engine 5.

The New Saga Begins In The Witcher Franchise

Since The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, released in 2011, CD PROJEKT RED has used their proprietary REDengine technology to build their games. But Now, They will use Unreal Engine 5, beginning a multi-year strategic partnership with Epic Games. After this, A new technology partnership with Epic Games not only licensing but also technical development of Unreal Engine 5 and potential future versions of Unreal Engine. CDPR also confirmed that REDengine, the technology that powers Cyberpunk 2077, is still being used to develop the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion. Radek Grabowski, the global PR director for CD Projekt, also cleared some doubt about the game announcement on his Twitter.

Besides, The official Twitter account of the Witcher franchise replied to a tweet and mentioned the next Witcher game wouldn’t be exclusive to the Epic Games Stores.
