Richard Yu confirmed to CNET that Huawei really has a real prototype of its next flexible display phone. The problem is that it needs a series of improvements related to the mechanical design, in addition, it needs a better technology and more flexibility for the screen due to which they still don’t able to launch this device to the market. But we’ll probably see it in 2019.
Huawei has a flexible display phone but is not yet functional
ZTE has been the first manufacturer to launch a phone with these features. As we already talked about the ZTE Axon M, a phone that surprised us by its system consisting of two screens that come together to create a single panel of 6.75 inches. However, the problem is that there is a large gap in the middle of both screens that make the user experience is not perfect. The same CEO of Huawei is the one who has confirmed that the phone with the flexible screen of Huawei mounts two screens with a small space between them and according to Richar Yu, they have to eliminate that void to be able to launch the phone to the market. This is the main reason why Huawei wants to wait to be able to launch a phone with a really functional flexible display. We knew that other manufacturers, such as Samsung with its expected Samsung Galaxy X expected to see the light in the latest Mobile World Congress, as they are working to launch a folding screen phone, but no one expected Huawei was also interested in launching a smartphone with the flexible display. For now, we do not know more details about the new phone with the folding screen of Huawei so we will have to wait for the brand to give us more information, but the idea that another manufacturer is running to launch its own device with the flexible display is excellent news for the sector.
