Getting Emotes in Minecraft
The good news is that you don’t really have to do anything to get some emotes. By default, you’ll start off with the following emotes:
“Wave” “Simple Clap”“Over There”
Three more emotes can also be unlocked by earning achievements in the game. We’ve listed how to get each of the unlockable emotes in Minecraft below:
“The Hammer” – Unlocked by completing the Acquire Hardware Achievement. This achievement and emote is earned by smelting an iron ingot.“Diamonds To You!” – Unlocked by completing the Diamonds to You! Achievement. This achievement and emote is earned by throwing diamonds at another player.“The Pickaxe” – Unlocked by completing the Adventuring Time Achievement. This achievement and emote are unlocked by discovering 17 biomes.“Faceplant” – Unlocked by completing the Cow Tipper Achievement. This requires you to kill a cow.“Fake Death” – Unlocked by completing the Cheating Death Achievement. This requires you to use the Totem of Undying to cheat death.
Once you’ve unlocked the achievements and emotes, press left on your d-pad to open the Emote Menu. Now, press Y on Xbox One or Triangle on PS4 or select the “Change Emotes” option on PC. You’ll now see six emote slots. Select one and choose one of the newly unlocked emotes. It’ll play a quick preview, but to unlock and use them, you need to select the “Collect” option at the bottom of the screen. It’ll confirm your ‘purchase’ but don’t worry, it’s free. You’ll then have the emote and can use it just like any other.
