Huawei to Use Russia’s Avrora OS as Android’s Replacement
Well, if you have been staying updating with the latest tech news across the world, then you might know that Google already broke all commercial relations with Huawei. That simply means, that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, of course, Huawei will no longer use Android, including all Google apps. The decision already sparked a trade war between the United States and China. After the decision, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, of course, Huawei has already experienced some significant challenges like what operating system they will use on their future phones, what will be the Google Play Store alternatives, how will they attract users to use their new OS, etc. Despite all such challenges, the second-largest smartphone manufacturer, Huawei doesn’t seem to give up. After the ban, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer was found preparing a new operating system to replace Android. The name of the operating system is still in mystery, but some say that it will be called ‘HongMeng OS’. However, soon after that news, another news created a spark on the internet which claims that Huawei is in talks to use Russia’s Avrora OS to replace Android. We understand, things are a little bit complicated now, and it’s slowly becoming more confusing. Recent reports claim that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei is currently planning a discussion with officials at Russia’s communications ministry to seek permissions to use Russia’s Avrora operating system. For those who don’t know, Avrora is based on Sailfish OS which is designed by the Finnish technology company Jolla and based on Linux. The primary difference between the Avrora and Sailfish OS is that Avrora OS can’t run Android apps but Sailfish OS can. Sailfish is not a popular mobile operating system, but it excels in privacy and security features. Some popular news sources also claim that Huawei has already started to test Avrora-powered smartphones. If that was to be believed, then the upcoming smartphones from Huawei will be running on Avrora OS, not on Ark or HongMeng OS. So, what do you think about this?
